The Comal County Sheriff’s Place of business is investigating the drowning of man at Canyon Lake earlier this week.

County officials known the drowning sufferer as 25-year-ancient Jhonatan Zavaleta from Houston. First responders received a call around 4 p.m. Monday, about 5 minutes after he went missing, for a conceivable drowning at the Comal Park Swim Beach.

The Unusual Braunfels Dive Team was also dispatched and found Zavaleta’s physique around 7 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy has been ordered.

Witnesses said the man misplaced his tube and tried to swim back  to shore, however went below water, according to county officials. Zavaleta was visiting the park with his girlfriend and pals.

Areas of the man-made reservoir near Comal Park can be as deep as 109 feet, according to theU.S Army Corps of Engineers.Zavaleta’s physique was recovered 40 feet offshore in about 65 feet of water, according to theUnusual Braunfels Herald-Zeitung.
